  12. Michael Roth says:

I know that must really hurt. But that pain is not your true self. It is the dust that builds up and covers your soul like dust on a mirror. Your job, should you agree to accept it, is to acknowledge your issues as our wise sister, Iyanla would say, and then heal. How to heal? When you think about the people who hurt you and, perhaps you now have wrong feelings towards others, you have to polish that dust away, until your mirror shines. You have to pull the weeds that cover your garden so the truth inside can shine through. Those metaphors are ways to think about your issues and how they block you. You may not be able to figure out right away why you act a certain way. You may incorrectly think its caused by one thing, when really it is something else. It could be something from a previous life that you have to even be willing to take responsibility for even though you have no way to be responsible for it since another person did it. That may be a tough bone to swallow, but that is why we need to be willing to detach, otherwise our issues can overwhelm us. Hope that helps.
    Thanks.
